Candlewick’s support of an NGO

Refugees International Japan (RIJ) is an independent, not-for-profit organization dedicated to raising funds to support refugees who have lost everything as a result of war and conflict. It is also one of the oldest organizations of its kind that started in Japan. By selecting projects based on key elements such as food, shelter and education, RIJ provides funding for them, often in remote communities.

Candlewick has provided pro-bono PR services since 2005 and supported its annual fundraising event, a grand auction, with media relations and sponsorship. These activities, however small, are what Candlewick considers as an important contribution to society. Candlewick once arranged as a very special prize – a one-off jersey belonging to the Japanese national soccer team designed by fashion icon Alfred Dunhill. The jersey was auctioned off and raised much-needed funds for RIJ.
