In October 2024 Candlewick began working with Finnair, the Finnish airline providing the shortest and most direct flights between Japan and Scandinavia.

For over 40 years as Santa Claus’ official airline, Finnair has been making children’s Christmas Dreams come true all over the world.

Ahead of the December Christmas season, Finnair invited the Santa Claus foundation’s official Santa Claus to Japan. This annual event, held since the opening of Finnair’s Japan Office, delivers smiles and happiness to children in Japan. Candlewick led the event organisation and operation at Narita International Airport, securing the attendance of key media outlets and organising a photo session and interviews with Santa.

As the event was held at an airport, a high level of security control and precise time management was required. We were required to coordinate and liaise with multiple stakeholders, including Narita Airport’s sales and operations departments, local handling companies, and event companies in Finland.

Candlewick was also in charge of designing the logo sign for the stair ramp when Santa Claus made his appearance, to ensure high-quality exposure for Finnair. The event was attended by a wide range of media, including TV, newspapers, news agencies and trade media, securing significant media exposure highlighting Finnair’s role as Santa Claus’ official airline.
