Since 2019, Candlewick has been supporting the Irish Food Board, Bord Bia, in its public relations activities in Japan.
Through our work, we aim to bring the natural bounty nurtured by Ireland’s cold, pristine waters to Japanese tables—strengthening collaboration with Japan’s seafood industry and promoting the appeal of sustainable and delicious Irish seafood.

Earlier this year, Bord Bia participated in the Japan International Seafood Show, held at Tokyo Big Site.
As one of Japan’s largest seafood trade fairs, the event welcomed approximately 28,000 visitors from around the world and showcased a vibrant exchange of ideas and innovation.

This year, four leading Irish seafood suppliers joined the exhibition, presenting premium products such as mackerel, smoked salmon, and oysters, all harvested from Ireland’s rich and unspoiled seas.

Ireland’s seafood industry is committed to sustainability—not only in aquaculture and fishing, but also in processing and shipbuilding.
This dedication is embodied in Origin Green, Ireland’s national food sustainability program and the only one of its kind in the world to be independently verified.

Bord Bia is involved in a variety of industry support and sales promotion activities to promote sustainable Irish food and drink production, as well as domestic and international consumption. As part of this, we are deepening our exchanges and collaboration with the Japanese seafood distribution industry to ensure that Japanese people can choose and enjoy Irish seafood with confidence.
