キャンドルウィックが日本のPR事務局として応援させていただいている、難民支援のためのプロジェクトをご紹介します。国際的に活躍するアーティスト兼デザイナーのジョニー・ダー氏が2016年に立ち上げた、国際的なチャリティプロジェクト “Jeans for Refugees”（難民支援のためのジーンズオークション）です。
We’d like to introduce ‘Jeans for Refugees’, a Johny Dar project and artistic fundraising initiative dedicated to helping refugees around the world. Johny Dar is an internationally acclaimed fashion designer and artist, and Candlewick is supporting this worthy cause by acting as the Japan PR representative office pro bono.

 
このプロジェクトでは、ダー氏がペイントした世界のセレブリティ100名のジーンズ100本がオンライン・オークションにかけられ、売上金の全額がIRC（国際救援委員会）に寄付され、世界中の恵まれない難民救済のための支援活動のために使用されます。本プロジェクトのデザインロゴはレインボーカラー。ジーンズを寄付してくれた各々のセレブリティのユニークな個性を表現しており、国際社会においてそれぞれの個性が世界を明るくするという願いが込められています。
One hundred celebrities have come together to support the cause by donating their jeans to be painted by Johny Dar. Each pair of jeans will be made into an individual art piece and auctioned at a special fundraiser with all proceeds going towards IRC (International Rescue Committee) initiatives, helping millions of refugees worldwide. The ‘Jeans for Refugees’ initiative aims to spread a message through art, to empower people to collaborate for a common goal and create positive change, painting a new paradigm and inspiring a brighter world.

オークションで出品されているジーンズは、先日ニューヨークで開催されたファッションウィークのランウェイでお披露目されました。
The painted jeans were shown on the runway at New York Fashion Week.

 
この後は10月24日- 30日の間、英国ロンドンにあるコンテンポラリー・アート専門の美術館、サーチ・ギャラリーで展覧され、オークションにかけられます。
From October 24th to 30th, the jeans will be exhibited at the Saatchi Gallery in London.
