It’s time to get moving and enjoy sports!

The mornings and evenings are getting cooler- it’s time to get moving and enjoy sports!

As the Japan Office for Monaco Tourism, we would like to introduce you to the Principality of Monaco’s relationship with sports.
Under the leadership of Prince Albert II, a former Olympic bobsledder and IOC member, the Principality of Monaco is involved in a variety of initiatives, including projects aimed at promoting world peace through sports.

In addition to motor sports such as F1, Monaco is also active in basketball and soccer. The AS Monaco soccer club team has attracted a lot of attention this year with the transfer of Japan’s national team player Minamino, whose red-and-white uniform was the brainchild of Princess Grace Kelly!
Be sure to play tennis with former professional players at the Monte Carlo Country Club, which has red clay courts reputed to be the most beautiful tennis courts in the world, or at the Golf Club, where you can also enjoy playing golf with a view of the Mediterranean Sea below. Next time you are in Monaco, why not plan to watch a soccer game and cheer on Minamino?

The Qatar World Cup is starting soon, and the Women’s World Cup is actually starting to make some big moves for next year’s opening!

New Zealand recently held a ceremony for the participating countries in the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023™, using a “taki” (ceremonial tree branch), a traditional way for the indigenous Maori to extend an invitation to their visitors. In modern New Zealand, this ceremony is performed when guests of honor or dignitaries visit, and represents the highest level of “welcome”.

Tourism New Zealand has released a video invitation to the Japan Women’s National Team players and supporters who will be playing all matches up to the semi-finals in New Zealand. Please take a look 😆

The All Blacks, New Zealand’s national rugby team, are visiting Japan for the first time in three years!

Did you know that New Zealand has an All Blacks Experience that rugby fans should visit?

Opened in 2020 in the capital city of Auckland, this facility allows visitors to experience the history and spirit of the All Blacks. There is also an experience zone using the latest technology, so even those who don’t know much about rugby can enjoy themselves.
