How is your hayfever, everyone? Hopefully okay enough to be able to see the beautiful scenes of Spring. Speaking of going out, this week, members of Candlewick will introduce their favourite places to visit during the Spring season.

First, Yokoyama.

“In spring, it’s time to take a trip full of activities. It is a great way to stretch out and refresh your body, which has been stretched by the cold weather.
Every year, my family and I have tried activities such as canoeing, canyoning, and forest adventures.
Paddling a canoe on Kawaguchi Lake, everyone calls out to each other and paddles in unison while enjoying the view of Mount Fuji.
It was a great feeling to be one with nature. Canyoning down the canyon using just your body is an exciting experience at Mizukami Kogen.
It was more thrilling than I had imagined, jumping into a waterfall and sliding down a rock face, and the barbecue and hot spring bath after working so hard to reach the goal was exceptional!

Why don’t you give it a try?”

Continuing on the theme of Spring, next is Ishii.

“This spring has seen a peak in the number of tourists visiting Japan. Around me, my friends from overseas, who have been eagerly awaiting their visit to Japan since before Corona, are visiting Japan just in time for the cherry blossoms to bloom. Recently, I have been enjoying the spring in Japan with them, and I have been able to stop and look at scenery that I would never pay attention to in my own country, and discover it from a new perspective.”

Last but not least is Suzuki.

“With the arrival of spring, many of you may be thinking about starting a new life or redecorating your home. I would like to introduce some places that will give you some hints for such changes.

I recommend “Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum,” which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. The attraction of this museum is, of course, the wonderful artworks on display, but it is also the opportunity to appreciate art in the residence space of the Prince Asakamiya’s residence. The Art Deco style interior decorations, furniture, murals, stained glass, and modern tiles on the floor are all full of inspiration for your new life.

On May 8 & 9 2023, the former Asakamiya residence will appear as “FUTURE ART TOKYO 2023″ with projection mapping.”
