Every autumn and winter, Candlewick looks forward to the arrival of Avanza, a premium avocado from New Zealand, available in stores from mid-October through January. 🥑
For over a decade, Candlewick has supported Avanza’s PR in the Japanese market. This season, we introduced Avanza to a wider audience as the “avocado chosen by Food Connoisseurs” through a series of carefully curated initiatives.
1) ELLE Gourmet branded collaboration
A feature in the December issue of ELLE gourmet (print and digital) showcased Avanza through refined yet approachable recipes for the Christmas and home-entertaining season, highlighting both quality and versatility.

2) Cooking class at ELLE Gourmet Foodies Festival 2025
To mark the start of the season, Candlewick hosted a demonstration-style cooking class led by chef and food producer Miho Kawakami, introducing new ways to enjoy Avanza avocados.



3) Avanza × ukafe collaboration
In partnership with ukafe at Tokyo Midtown, a limited-time menu of three original dishes highlighted Avanza avocado’s flavor and nutritional value, promoting a wellness-focused lifestyle.
Across all initiatives, Candlewick managed brand messaging, media relations, press materials, and collaboration planning to support Avanza’s recognition in Japan.
