Candlewick has been working with Bord Bia, the Irish Government Food Agency, since 2019 to support their promotional activities in Japan. Raised in Ireland, a country with a rich natural environment and a strong focus on sustainability, Irish grass-fed beef is delicate, tender, and lean. With years of knowledge of similar products and a deep understanding of the Japanese market, we at Candlewick can develop a marketing strategy for the Japanese market, step by step helping to raise awareness of the client’s products.
After gaining a thorough understanding of the client's product, we first prioritise trade targets and implement media buying and PR initiatives. Through organising trade tasting events, arranging media coverage, localising content for the Japanese market, creating websites, advertising in trade publications and gourmet magazines and tie-ins, we can reach trade targets from many angles. We thoroughly researched the market and chose the most appropriate Japanese expressions for product names and titles, creating a clear and constant line up. By establishing a set of rules and unifying communication, we are gradually establishing a common language for the Japanese trade and consumers. As well as Irish grass-fed beef, we support a wide range of PR activities for Irish food and drink products including pork, dairy products and whisky.
