Since three years ago, it seems like I’ve noticed an increase of features on women with strong personal beliefs; women with an entrepreneurial spirit, and who are forging their own path.

I think that the word to best describe these women is not necessarily “strength”, but something closer to “agility” or “flexibility”.
I often feel that the intention of a “”women’s magazine”” is to focus on people who have a kind of magnitism through their bright personality- not because of their social title or voice, but because of who they are at their core.

Perhaps “women’s magazines” as a genre will disappear in the near future. Nevertheless it’s empowering to see people shining in their own way, regardless of gender!

Next is Suzuki.

The topics of interest in women’s magazines have always been “fashion” and “beauty” for me.

If you’re just after the latest trends and new products, the internet is the place. But when it comes to magazines, you’ll be immediately drawn into the world of the magazine pages with intriguing poses, compelling photography, styling and artwork. Especially in issues out on sale now, they all have a lot of topics that will lift your spirits for Spring and make you feel good just by a turn of a page.

I once read an article that said that women’s magazines do not only follow style trends in terms of clothes, accessories, make-up, etc. Rather, they also plan their projects based on the overall social trends, and are able to skillfully deliver to their readers the excitement of being fashionable and beautiful.

I feel that it is important for me to feel and understand wider society in order to become a reliable PR professional for the editors I work with.

The topics that I am interested in in women’s magazines are about ”wellbeing” and ”women’s empowerment”.

The importance of wellbeing has always been on my mind, particularly as our work with clients has an impact on people’s wellbeing, and I am very conscious of my own balance between work and private life.

I also like the articles on “women’s empowerment”. Recently, the March issue of ELLE had a feature on “”New Leaders: Women leaders who will shape the world””. It was very fascinating to see how women leaders in different countries think about their careers and personal lives.

As a PR professional, I always try to keep up to date with a wide range of topics and I hope to continue to pick up on as much as I can!
