As we celebrate our 20th anniversary in March, we at Candlewick would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our clients, media, and partners who support our business.

Our 20th anniversary event was held on March 3, the same day as Doll Festival, at the historic International House of Japan in Roppongi, Tokyo. All employees worked together to prepare the event as a token of our gratitude for all the support we have been shown over the years.

The meal included the essence of each country with which Candlewick is closely involved, and we also prepared an original welcome drink.

Even the favors we gave to the guests were filled with our thoughts and feelings. The candle, our company’s namesake, was originally made for this event. The Tamba-yaki cups were made one by one at a kiln in Kyoto. The wax is Soy, the wick is cotton, and the fragrance is a summer fragrance by de Mamiel, a British skin care brand imported and distrubuted by our company.

In fact, this was the first time for the entire staff to work together to run an event. Each member of the staff demonstrated their strengths in their respective areas of expertise, and we felt once again that we were a good team!

On the day of the 20th anniversary celebration party, we were able to welcome everyone to the party while enjoying a truly cheery spring-like weather.

The celebrations began with a speech by Mr. Honda, President of Honda Office and one of Japan’s leading PR strategists, followed by a toast by Ms. Laurie Henderson, Managing Director of CEAMS LLC. Guests enjoyed a course meal and a special lotto draw.

During the meal, sports journalist Florent Dabadie, who has worked with us at various events in the past, moderated a panel discussion with Nahoko Ota, President of Klee Inc. based in Tokyo and Paris, and Harper’s Bazaar’s Senior Beauty Editor Yumiko Kizu. The panelists talked about the future of PR and communication. Everyone at the event felt inspired by these professionals’ speeches, and were given a sense of renewed enthusiasm for the future.

We are truly grateful that we were able to spend such a special day with so many valued individuals.

Following the 20th anniversary celebration party, which welcomed our guests, the second part of the event was a staff-only gathering.

We looked back on the various projects we have been involved in and we were reminded once again that there are many wonderful countries and brands that we are involved in PR for.

In the future, Candlewick will continue to communicate the values of brands, with the same purpose of “communication that enriches the lives of the world” in mind. We will continue to follow the “Candlewick Way” of communicating the value of our brand, changing perceptions, capturing markets, and supporting businesses.

Thank you all for your continued support.
